Laurence has over 18 years’ experience in asset management, having managed Fund of Fund portfolios across a range of global investment firms in Sydney, London and New York. Laurence was most recently for 10 years a Senior Portfolio Manager – Private Debt & Alternatives at Australian Retirement Trust overseeing the firm’s $4 billion Private Debt & Alternatives and Co-Investment programs. Laurence is the Founder & Chairman of 10x10 Philanthropy, which has distributed over $5 million to early-stage Social Purpose Organisations globally and engaged over 15,000 donors in giving. In 2022 Laurence was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for “service to the community through philanthropic initiatives”.

Head of Private Capital | Barrenjoey

Michael has over 20 years experience in the asset management, banking and finance industries. Prior to joining Barrenjoey, Michael acted as Chief Executive, Group Strategy at Challenger where he spent over 16 years. This included a decade as General Counsel and Group Company Secretary. During his time at Challenger, Michael was instrumental to the buildout of Challenger’s asset management and banking capabilities. Michael previously worked at Ashurst and UBS. He is an admitted solicitor in NSW and member of the Law Council of Australia.

Navodit has over 30 years of experience in the financial services sector having held senior advisory, capital market and corporate finance roles with Macquarie Group, HBOS and ANZ in Australia, India and the UK. Prior to joining Barrenjoey, Navodit spent 3 years as Chief Financial Officer of Endeavour Energy. He previously spent 10 years at Macquarie Group focusing on infrastructure and utilities transactions for large infrastructure sponsors in Australia and New Zealand. Navodit is Co-Head of Debt Capital Markets and Financing at Barrenjoey.

Matt has over 30 years of broad experience across investment banking, private equity and law, with roles in Australia, London, and Hong Kong. Matt spent 10 years at UBS where, as Head of the Asia Pacific investment banking operations, he ran the leading regional investment banking franchise and was a Member of the Global Executive Committee for the Investment Bank. Prior to that, Matt held senior roles with Morgan Stanley, including Head of Investment banking for Australia and New Zealand. He was also a Partner at Clayton Utz for over four years. Matt is a Non-Executive Director of Rugby Australia and Non-Executive Chairman of SAI Global. Matt has a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney.

Eliza has over 10 years of financial markets experience, predominantly within private markets. Eliza joined Community Capital from Credit Suisse’s Private Fund Group based in London working across strategic advisory, origination and due diligence, capital raising and structuring for leading private equity and private debt managers based across EMEA and North America. This included business origination, manager screening and co-leading diligence on a portfolio of global private equity, credit and infrastructure funds; working across primary, secondary and co-invest mandates. Eliza has a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Law from the University of Sydney.

Investment Manager | Community Capital

Fiona has over 9 years of experience in private markets. She began her career in the private markets team at Malaysian sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional Berhad, where she helped to institutionalise its private equity fund investment program and invested in private equity managers globally. Fiona was most recently a Senior Investment Director at Cambridge Associates, advising superannuation funds, endowments, foundations and private clients across Australia and New Zealand on portfolio construction, asset allocation and manager selection. In this role, she also conducted investment due diligence in primary and co-investment opportunities across private equity, infrastructure and venture capital strategies. Fiona holds a Master of Mathematics from the University of Oxford and is a CFA® charterholder.

Amanda is a co-founder of Impact Generation Partners, which invests in and advises purpose-driven enterprises that deliver social and/or environmental returns alongside financial returns. Amanda is a Director at Impact Investing Australia, Co-Chair of Philanthropy Australia and Deputy Chair for the Expert Panel of the Federal Government's Social Impact Investing Taskforce. Amanda was previously a Board member of Australians Investing in Women and Chair of Kids in Philanthropy.

Director, Asia, Palladium

David has 25 years of experience across the private and ‘for-purpose’ sectors, spanning diverse roles from global senior management to field operations and delivery.  He currently serves as Director for Asia at the international development contractor The Palladium Group, with a portfolio of work spanning inclusive economic growth, trade, infrastructure advisory, renewable energy and education.  Prior to Palladium, David was the Executive Director, Ventures & Partnerships at Social Ventures Australia, supporting the scaling of community-based innovation in social service delivery, from early childhood education to services for young jobseekers.  Previously, David worked for over a decade with the international development nonprofit organisation, Technoserve, in operational and strategic roles across the USA, East and West Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean, including as part of the senior global leadership team.  David started his career at Bain & Company in Australia, Spain and Korea, and also worked at the Sydney-based Pacific Equity Partners.

Abhilash has over 20 years of experience in various 'for purpose' roles in India, the US and Australia. He is currently founder and Managing Director of Grey Area Partners, a boutique advisory firm working with impact investors, philanthropists and non-profits on projects related to impact strategy, resource mobilisation, evaluation and capacity building. In his previous role as Chief Impact Officer at the Paul Ramsay Foundation, Abhilash oversaw teams focused on learning, evaluation and impact investing at a foundation dedicated to community development across Australia.

Co-Founder AirTree Ventures / Founder StartGiving

Daniel is a leader in Australia’s technology and venture capital industry. Daniel spent nine years at Microsoft, including two years as Vice President running one of the major product groups. He went on to establish three major technology investment companies in Australia - Ecorp, Netus and AirTree Ventures. Ecorp and Netus invested over $100 million in technology companies in Australia, whilst AirTree Ventures remains one of Australia’s preeminent venture capital firms (of which Daniel remains Co-Founder and Partner Emeritus). Daniel’s contribution to the not-for-profit sector has also been immense, with positions held as Chairperson of the Board at Vera Living, member of the Advisory Council, UNSW Centre for Social Impact and member of the Governing Council at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, amongst others. Most recently, Daniel founded StartGiving, a not-for-profit supporting successful founders and executives to establish their own charitable foundations.

Impact Investing Manager, Minderoo

Skye has over a decade of experience in impact investing and, in her current role, is responsible for investing Minderoo's A$250 million Strategic Impact Fund. Skye previously worked at Bridges Fund Management in the UK, where she raised and invested the Bridges Social Entrepreneurs Fund. Since returning to Australia, Skye has consulted to leading impact investing players including NSW Treasury’s Office of Social Impact Investment, Social Ventures Australia (SVA) and Social Enterprise Finance Australia. Skye has also held roles at Goldman Sachs, JBWere, and Macquarie Group, as well as in finance start-ups.
